Murder is Not a Game by Sam Scott

Eleven-year-old Toby Shaw yearns for adventure. The discovery of a mysterious box hidden in a vase coincides with the start of events that lead him to become a super sleuth.

In the remote setting of Bodmin Moor, when a new resident arrives, villagers begin to die in ghastly circumstances. After uncovering and cracking clues, Toby, along with the help of his younger sister Lucy, commits to solving the mystery of the dastardly deaths.

Suddenly, a game is afoot! Will Toby solve the murders before the village police officer … who just happens to be his father?
