Peter’s tour will be more than about sculpture as you will also gain an appreciation of the layout of Harlow\, and the planning principles that Sir Frederick Gibberd brought to the town.\n\nThe tour also includes a visit to the Gibberd Gallery where you can view the exhibition New Town New Art\, a selection of artworks recently gifted to the Harlow Art by the Foundation for Essex Arts.\n\nPeter Aylmer lives in Sheering\, the first village east out of Harlow. His rich understanding of Essex and its countryside started young\, visiting his uncle’s farm in the Roding’s. Since discovering walking as a young man\, he’s since climbed many hills and walked many long-distance paths all over Britain\, but still relishes the surprise on people’s faces when he tells them that some of his favourite walking is within his home county.\n\nAs well as his Trailman series\, Peter is the author of the Cicerone Press guides Walking in Essex (second edition\, 2019 and Walking in London (second edition\, 2023). Peter’s website trailman.co.uk has details of many walks across Britain.\n\n\n\nYou will also have an opportunity to purchase your own copy of Harlow Sculpture Walks on the day or you can purchase prior at the Gibberd Gallery\, Civic Centre Harlow. The price of the guide is £8 with £2 going towards the Harlow Art Trust. This money will be used by the Trust to support the care of the 100 plus sculptures in Harlow Sculpture Town.\n\n*£8.00 tickets are a special offer for current Friends of Harlow Sculpture Town. If you are not a Friend and would like to join please email gallery@harlowarttrust.org.uk. Membership fees are £15 and £10 (unwaged) per year. All money goes to supporting Harlow Art Trust in its work to look are the Harlow Sculpture Town collections and our community and education work.\n\n \n\n \n\n
