DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Collecting Dreams\, Shifting Futures - Beach of Dreams\nWednesday 28 May\nVenues across Harwich\nJoin in the fun this half term at the finale of Essex Book Festival and Kinetika's collaborative story-gathering project\, Collecting Dreams\, Shifting Futures: a community celebration of Harwich’s fascinating heritage and coastline\, which forms part of the inspirational nationwide Beach of Dreams project.\n\nAfter an early start on the beach with a Know Your Beach Workshop led by local educator and environmental campaigner Libby Scarfe\, participants will have the opportunity to take part in The Keeper of the Light Beach of Dreams silk-flag procession through town\, followed by mini-film screenings in the Electric Palace Cinema. For those who want to get the creative juices going\, join spoken word artist TriggerBliss and digital artist Marley Karazimba for a writing and film-making workshop.\n\nRegister at eventbrite.com to receive updates about this event.\n\n \n\nFunded by Historic England and run by community-driven art and design organisation Kinetika\, ‘Collecting Dreams\, Shifting Futures’ is a story-gathering project uniting communities in Great Yarmouth\, Harwich and Orford Ness. In this hands-on workshop\, we’ll explore Harwich’s rich history and its future challenges (like rising sea levels) through storyboarding—the art of sketching scenes like a movie. No experience needed! Using comic strips and simple drawings\, you’ll create your own “Day in the Life” of Harwich across time\, learning filmmaking techniques along the way.\n\n \n\nTwo Workshops in One!
